Our Boy Has Checked In

After a few of the longest days that we can remember Eric has checked in. I bolted for my cell phone when it went off about 9am PST, when I saw that it was a restricted number I hoped that I would hear the voice that we had been waiting to hear since Saturday
He said that they are in one of the hardest hit areas. He said it was 8.6 they were told and according to Eric "lasted 3 minutes".
He said they have food and water and that this morning he had his first shower since Saturday so he was feeling pretty good. They have no electricity or internet accesss, and they have been trying to call out with no sucess until today. He said that since some convicts have escaped from the damaged jails, they have been told by their Mission President to stay in groups, wear regular clothes (not their usual white shirts and ties). There is a curfew in effect so they have to be inside by dark.
I didn't get to ask him but, I am sure in the next few days they will be put to work helping wherever they can to help the members and non-members alike wherever they are needed. Eric will certainly have stories to tell about this experience.
We knew he was OK but hearing his voice was confirmation of that. Thank you for all you thoughts and prayers in his behalf. It maybe awhile before he can email out but we will post any new information that we get.
